Wedding planning…the big day – What dates to avoid
Planning your wedding is one of the biggest events you will undertake and you want it to be the perfect day. The first thing you are going to do is choose the date, however, there are a few that you should avoid for a few different reasons.
Public bank holidays – Double check that something significant hasn’t been thrown into the mix (a Royal Wedding). These dates often mean that venues and suppliers increase there costs, traffic could be heavier than normal and of course your guests maybe away on holiday.
February 14th Valentines Day – Researchers’ at the University of Melbourne claim that this date is the worst day to get married and you are more likely to get divorced!!
Major sporting events – no bride or groom wants to clash when there is a major fixture on.
Important family and friends events – To ensure that there are no conflicts with family and friends talk to both sets of parents and close friends to understand commitments, birthdays, wedding anniversaries, after all you want them all there celebrating your big day with you.
And finally… just check that there is no local activities taking place that could cause delay to your big day, carnival, festival or parades.
