5 tips to help you embrace the weather

It’s happening, let’s do this.

Accept it

The first step is to accept that the weather is out of your control. Yes, you can allow yourself a few moments to lament the misfortune, but don’t dwell on it. Because misfortune is exactly what it is. The bad weather is not some portent of everlasting marital misery or a disapproving protest from Mother Nature. And if you do believe in metaphors, then look at it like this. Marriage is a test of perseverance; a journey of overcoming obstacles together. Here is your first! Be one another’s source of sunshine and your guests will bask in it too.

Liaise with your vendors and service providers

The catering people, the band, the DJ and the local chap bringing the hog roast. You need to check in with all of them regarding their procedure for wet weather. Contingency measures may be required, and it’s best to know upfront.
